Permanently Protect Abortion Access in New Mexico

New Mexican families are strong and resilient. We want our families to be able to live the lives that they want and be treated with respect and Dignity.

As politicians in Washington D.C. and other states put up barriers to reproductive health care, New Mexicans know that the decision to end a pregnancy is personal and should remain between a woman and her health care provider. As a safe medical procedure, abortion should be protected from political interference.

Barriers to reproductive health care only benefit a political agenda that does not reflect the values of New Mexico. As New Mexicans, we understand that a woman and her family need access to a full range of health care, including safe and legal abortion.

With the Future of the U.S. Supreme Court (and it’s ruling in Roe vs Wade), we must repeal out-of-date anti-abortion language in the criminal code of New Mexico, as it only threaten to criminalize women and health care providers. Especially in a rural state, we must permanently protect access to reproductive health care, including abortion, no matter what happens in Washington D.C.

Because we respect New Mexico women and families, we urge the Legislature and Governor of New Mexico to pass a bill repealing this outdated statute and permanently protect access to reproductive health care, including abortion in New Mexico. Legislators should pass this bill with urgency in the next legislative session.

Your group has robocalled me three times in less than 24 hours. I’m not in Las Cruces, though the message inferred I am. I’ve don’t even have a Las Cruces area code. And I don’t know where you got my number from, but it’s invasive and offensive and I wish all you gung ho political solicitors would stop sharing it. I use a different phone for long distance calls, which your number is, and I called your number back. It gave the option to press 1 to be taken off your list, but your system is so primitive, that it wouldn’t do any good, since the phone I was using wasn’t the one you’re calling me on. It doesn’t ask me what number you should stop calling, it just reads the one I’m using at the time.
I don’t even want to give my name on this form. My privacy is important to me, nowadays a matter of safety. I don’t even know which side of the fence your “group” is on. At 800notes.com I can see that as lately as January of this year, your CID number was used to try to sell someone insurance, which is a scam. So you could be scammers, or anti abortion extremists.

And why do you assume that everyone has a mobile phone and uses social media? You’re demanding my cell number on this form, I don’t use either. Your focus and political fight isn’t mine, that’s presumptuous of you, if you’re even real and not a scammer or one of those liars from the pro life movement who are so violent. I vote every single time, have never missed a vote, but I don’t do public discourse, which your call supposedly invited me to participate in by phone. And the other day, it mentioned a survey.

And by the way, your robocall system is also so primitive that it immediately started blathering while my outgoing message was still running. I heard that because I have Call Screening, and I don’t have to answer. I always ignore scam calls, most of them are recognizable on CID. Yesterday your call woke me up. It seemed to infer we all have the same goals and political motivations. We don’t. You didn’t ask. You assumed and inferred.
Very invasive, very dangerous, very offensive. And the issue is moot, whether the right to lifers accept it or not, because Federal law supersedes State and all other lower laws, and the medical procedure is legal at the Federal level.

What irritates me is that you’ve somehow obtained my unpublished number, and assumed certain things about me, and you called and woke me up, and have called three times already. You politicos keep passing my number around, and because of the work I do, I can’t just change it. You’re either a scammer, or a pest. Having a website doesn’t validate who you are, I’ve seen websites created by scam callers using stock photos. Entries at 800notes.com, a very reliable website, say your CID number has been used for scams and fake surveys for years, as well as your present Bill 51 calls. It’s been used for years for all kinds of scams. For that reason, I won’t risk revealing my home number here. I’m tired of scammers and fake political surveyors pestering me… of pestering all of us. Including you…. whatever you are. Someone would have to be naive or crazy to publish their name on the web, with a hot topic like this.

I find it reprehensible, despicable, abhorrent, demeaning and utterly beyond the pale that legislative ignorant men find it perfectly fine to outlaw abortion, relegating women to some subservient, abysmal black hole, where they have absolutely NO say in their own personal rights to their OWN bodies, these reprobate law makers should be the ones relegated to the bottomless pit of Hell with all the concomitant fire and fury they have created by their ignorance , audacious blundering of their actions. YES,DO PUBLISH THIS LET PEOPLE KNOW HOW I, JIM ROOT FEEL!

No ONE has the Right to tell any Woman what is right for her Life or Body! Keep the Church and State Separate! Abortion is a PRIVATE MATTER!!! IT IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!!

Please repeal this antiquated law restricting women the right to have control over her health care decisions. Individual Health care is a private decision not a matter government has a right to dictate.

As a woman, a mother, and a physician, I strongly urge this legislative update. Safe abortion will always be available for privileged women. Let’s make sure it’s accessible for ALL women.
